Isaiah 55:10‑11 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seeds for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
This is how God gives; generously, abundantly, and with every confidence that it will accomplish what He said it should do. God is truth and never so much as breathes a lie. He never has to wonder whether what He says will happen. It most assuredly will!
Take the examples He gives us here. The rains and snows are sent from heaven to water the earth and make it fruitful, so there will be seeds for the sower, and bread (plus vegetables and fruit) for those who will eat of it. God has thought of everything we need and He over delivers.
I would certainly like to be able to speak and have everything I say come to pass, instead of words bouncing back to me empty. How about you?
There are passages that indicate we can speak with such authority when we pray or bind and loose in Jesus’ name. Maybe we need to go visit those again too.
But back to the first point; it would seem that if we want to be givers like God, we need to be super generous – give more than enough. That is our Heavenly Father’s style, and we want to emulate Him!
